When choosing Homer Alaska fishing charters, Bobs stands above the rest as we have been fishing for halibut in Homer, Alaska since 1980.
Bob’s Trophy Charter’s captains have worked hard to become some of the best! Each of our captains and their crews are friendly and nice. It’s easy to spend your time with them fishing, and of course, catching out in the waters of our beautiful Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet and across the Gulf of Alaska.
You can expect to catch all sizes of fish, especially halibut! We offer charters for many other species of fish including salmon, as well as ling cod and rock fish. We have charters for the experienced angler as well as beginners and those in between all ages. Charters come in full and 3/4 day options as well as multi-day overnight trips. Highly successful, unguided Alaska black bear hunting is a great Alaskan experience for both bow hunters and riflemen. Gathering a group of friends or making this a family outing- either way, you are sure to have a memorable time for you and your group. At Bob’s Trophy Charters we can cater to each group we take out hunting for that added personal attention.
Using our 50’ boat, the Nauti-Lady, we travel out of Homer about 4 hours to some prime hunting grounds. You’ll ride around the islands by boat hunting for the big black bear of your choice. Spring bears, just out of hibernation, feed along the shore and can be seen from the boat. Once you have made your selection from the boat, we can put you ashore in a rigid hull inflatable, engine driven naiad or zodiac. Once ashore, you should have your bear in short order since these bears do not have predators from the sea and pay little attention to boats. At this time of the year, the bears sport their thickest, un-rubbed coat which is especially nice for making the pelt into a bear rug. Our customers have averaged 200 – 450 lb. bears that squared up to 6 1/2 feet. Bear meat is good to eat.
Hunting by boat makes it comfortable since the boat is a safe dry place to eat and sleep. While on the hunt, we will overnight you in a beautiful cove while the captain and crew prepare all your meals and cook for you in a family type atmosphere.
Another benefit to hunting by boat is that we offer a couple days of fishing as well. Plan on taking home the fish you catch also. What a great and varied experience to fish, relax and hunt in pristine surroundings with your friends or family and a friendly crew.
These are unguided hunts, meaning we are not big game guides and are considered big game transporters. We provide transportation, lodging, and food. We cannot accompany you on shore during your hunt.
Sportsmen fly into Anchorage and then usually rent a car and drive or take a commuter down to Homer. We put you up for the night before the trip in one of our rooms above the office where we can help to get you ready for the next morning’s departure. Upon your return, we can assist you in finding a local taxidermist or processor for the care of your hide and meat.
We can accommodate up to four guests per hunting trip and do not mix groups with others. The cost for up to 4 hunters which will include 5 days hunting and fishing and 4 nights of lodging is $12,000 plus tax and licenses.
